As defined by Twitter, the word “trending” is prescribed to the way in which multiplied uses of a word, idea or concept grows in popularity based on the nature of its repetitive use.
By the artist’s account, this project is viewed as a collision between a book and an artwork; what happens when various forms coalesce? Paralleled with Loose Associations, Ryan Gander’s I’M TRENDING is a series of tools and clues with which our patterns of logic, thought and design are questioned and redefined, only we are the makers of our meaning.

Fourteen pairs of resin casts hosted in cardboard and fabric slipcases, 9mm plywood boards of varying sizes. Each pair is identically worn and has received identical minor damages, splintering, scratches and dinks. Each individual board within a pair is painted a different color.
Casts realized in resin and painted in fluorescent colors and coated with UV paint.
